We are looking for someone that will deliver library and information services that meet the needs of the CivicArts community and to support the mission of CivicArts, which is the reintegration of architecture, landscape and civic arts. The Librarian is the sole point of contact for anything to do with the library.

Main responsibilities:

* Catalogue and classify new acquisitions, plus continue retrospective cataloguing project
* Maintain and manage the Access-It library management system
* Maintain shelving order and integrity
* Answer enquiries and retrieve information
* Conduct research as required by architects
* Promote the CivicArts library effectively to users (includes introductory tours for new members of staff)
* Manage the periodical collection
* Identify any gaps in the collection, and recommend new books
* Keep abreast of new building standards, regulations, and advisory documents of relevance
* In the long run start a project in archiving architectural drawings.

Necessary skills and experience:

* Degree and Library qualification
* Experience of managing a library or part of a library
* Knowledge of one or more European languages (preferable)
* Good organizational, time management and communication skills
* Ability to work alone and as part of a team
* Confidence in liaising with all levels of staff
* Ability to take initiative in seeking to improve library services
* Demonstrable interest in arts/architecture
* Knowledge of the Library of Congress classification system
